I’ve been trying hard this year not to link to items that fall into the shiny object chasing category I’d call “tech-blogger meme-of-the-day.” However, I can’t help myself on this one. Mozilla Labs (the folks behind the Firefox browser) has a concept project called Ubiquity that utilizes an interface concept that will be very familiar and compelling to users of the software called Quicksilver. I’ve never tried to explain Quicksilver, but here goes: It a light-weight utility that I use... [Read the full story]

With the pesky Olympics out of the way, the reality fans in us all are glad to have America’s Got Talent back on with the search for the next great talent with America taking over the act of buzzing by voting the contestants off that don’t fit the mold of who America thinks should win it all. With judges, Piers Morgan, Sharon Osbourne and David Hasselhoff ready to hopefully not buzz too much, the race was on as we enter the home stretch of the summer blockbuster. The live action started off with Jerry Springer... [Read the full story]

Current business theories are correct in their own world, but the problem is that the theory may not make contact with the new world. For businesses to succeed in the new world a transformation in leadership thinking will be required. Back to the Future Imagine if business leaders were able to go... [Read the full story]

Jon Henshaw, the SEO guru (among many other things) at the web-development firm, Sitening, says some very nice things about the online strategy displayed on the Hammock Inc. company website, Hammock.com. (Yes, I do have a job.) Thanks, Jon. I feel like Sally Field. There are subtle things about the site that Jon notes — simple things that took me years of blogging to figure out and that took several people at Hammock (not just me, but thanks for the credit, Jon) nearly a year to think through. Again, it’s a... [Read the full story]

I saw an email come in over the weekend that was a correspondence between one of my clients and an upset customer. The customer had a series of very frustrating experiences with my client and chose to Tweet about all... [Read the full story]

They were all excited about bringing in the top names in their industry to join their network and selling their goods. They were getting ready to tell the top named people to join the network and just cut and paste “stuff” from these peoples own web sites and post the information onto their newly formed network. I went and looked at a few of the web sites for the proposed top names then I told the parties STOP... [Read the full story]

Many are writing about new networks, new functions and the pundits’ are screaming about the growth of social networking on line and in the mobile space.
