Hancock

June 30, 2008

There are heroes… there are superheroes… and then there’s Hancock. With great power comes great responsibility — everyone knows that — everyone, that is, but Hancock. Edgy, conflicted, sarcastic, and misunderstood, Hancock’s well-intentioned heroics might get the job done and save countless lives, but always seem to leave jaw-dropping damage in their wake. The public has finally had enough — as grateful as they are to have their local hero, the good citizens of Los Angeles are wondering... [Read the full story]

B/C they are great at what they do, and umm… I am proud of my homies. A couple of other homies that are getting ready to hit your ears are Joel and Luke. I have known... [Read the full story]

What Service Isn’t Working?

In the old world companies would run customer surveys to find out temperaments, preferences and what’s needed to improve. Many times these surveys were default in their design and the methods of analysis. Sometimes misleading the data really didn’t tell the whole story. The same applied to employee surveys. Designed to measure job satisfaction these surveys polled employees about work environments, management styles, pay rates and employees we’re expected to provide the feedbacks. Flawed was the premise... [Read the full story]

So, I’m still thinking a lot about how much time I spend being a Momma, and how much time I get to just be me.  And the disparity.  And how I need to manage that better, and have help doing so.  Thinking about what I need to be a mentally healthy, happy person. Thinking about how I need to carve out something that’s my own, and to myself.  You know, time for me to just step to the side, alone, and say, “Leave me alone right now.  I need to just be me for a little while.”    I LOVE this gig... [Read the full story]

Home from the beach. Yay. Despite a few missteps, a good time was had by all. One of the secrets of grown ups is that a vacation really isn't one when you're the parent, and double that when you're the Sandwich Generation poster child. The fun doesn't end, though, as the house is crawling with non-native children. Summer is exhausting for those of us who aren't teachers or students. Back to work tomorrow, as they are funny about wanting me to you know, be there.  Read More →

The top CEO’s of the Fortune 500 companies rely on accurate information required to steer their organizations future strategy. Most CEO’s would tell you they are inundated with internal operating reports, analysis about everything and anything. Externally they read The Wall Street Journal, Business Week, Forbes and Fortune Magazines. They also read books about strategy and reports about their competition. A Leaders job is to see the future of their market and steer the organization to that vision based on the... [Read the full story]
